Gifts to Davenport are tax deductible as allowed by law and may qualify you for state of Michigan tax credits and federal tax deductions. Please check with your financial advisor to learn how your gift may affect your tax situation.

Simply download and complete a gift and pledge form and mail it with your gift, along with your check, money order or credit card information. Checks should be payable to the Davenport University Foundation.

Stock or Securities
One benefit of donating appreciated stock is that you’ll avoid paying capital gains taxes on the growth of the stock. Another is that you’ll receive credit for a tax-deductible gift in the amount of the stock value on the date of transfer.
An example:
Mr. and Mrs. Smith purchased stock several years ago for $1,000. Over the past ten years, the stock value has appreciated to $6,000. By transferring ownership of the stock to Davenport University, the couple will avoid paying capital gains taxes on the $5,000 growth, and will receive credit for a tax-deductible gift in the amount of $6,000.
Upon receipt of the stock, the University will liquidate the asset and use the funds in accordance with your wishes.
