International Student Admissions Checklist

  1. Apply online for undergraduate or graduate admission as an international student and include the application fee ($125 USD and $25 USD for partnership institutions). You will also need: 

Undergraduate and Graduate Students

  • Official high school transcript in English
    All transcripts must be translated into English and evaluated by: Educational Credential Evaluators or World Educational Services.
  • Official TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score
    A score of 500 (paper), 173 (computer) or 61 (internet) or higher will exempt student from ESL (English as a second language) class requirement.
  • Documentation of financial ability
    U.S. Immigration regulations require you to provide documentation of financial ability before a Certificate of Eligibility Form I-20 can be issued. To document financial ability, send an official bank statement or official letter signed by an officer of the bank stating an amount of money on deposit of at least $23,760 USD for undergraduate students and $17,460 USD for graduate students. If account holder is someone other than the student, he/she must submit a signed letter or affidavit of support.

    Davenport will make an admissions decision within two weeks of receiving your application materials. You will receive a packet by mail containing:
    • Acceptance letter
    • Certificate of Eligibility Form I-20
    • SEVIS FEE information
    • Information on health and accident insurance available to you through Davenport
    • Confirmation of housing reservation (if requested) 
       
  3. Apply for Your Student (F-1) Visa (if attending classes on campus)
