Associate of Applied Science - 72 credits
The nursing program at Davenport University, approved by the Michigan Board of Nursing, provides nursing education to prepare the graduate at the associate’s degree level with the skills and knowledge necessary to function in the role of the Registered Nurse. This program has received candidacy status by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, Inc. Graduates are prepared to deliver direct patient care in acute care settings and for managing care environments of the patient with complex health care needs and their relating persons in collaboration with and other members of the health care team. The graduate will be eligible to apply for the National Council Licensing Examination (NCLEX-RN) for the Registered Nurse.

Associate of Applied Science - Nursing
The nursing program at Davenport University provides nursing education to prepare the graduate at the associate's degree level, with the skills and knowledge necessary to function in the role of Registered Nurse.
Graduates are prepared to:
- Deliver direct patient care in acute care settings.
- Manage care environments of patients with complex health care needs and their relating persons, in collaboration with other members of a health care team.
- Apply for the National Council Licensing Examination (NCLEX-RN) for the Registered Nurse.
The AAS-Nursing degree is offered in the Warren, Dearborn and Midland locations.
Admission Requirements
Seats are limited and entry is competitive based on:
- Official college transcript with 15 or more semester hours including equivalents to ENG111, MATH120, Anatomy and Physiology. DU students who entered in 2005-’06: ENGL111, HLTH134, BIOL121 and BIOL122 meet these requirements
- GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Health Education Systems, Inc. (HESI) Nursing Admission Assessment
- Two letters of professional recommendation (Download pdf)
