About Library Information Commons (LInC)

The LInC provides integrated library, computer lab, testing and tutoring services at 14 of Davenport University's locations, while supporting the learning and research for all of Davenport's students, faculty and staff, whether online or in-seat.

We offer downloadable brochures that provide more information for LInC visitors:

Search LInC Catalog

Search LInC Catalog
Visit our catalog to view the e-books and see which books, DVDs, magazines and newspapers are available at Davenport. Through the catalog, students and faculty can request an item from another DU LInC or renew items they've already checked out. There's also a link on the LInC pages to request items from non-DU libraries.

If you have a questions about LInC services or resources, you can also contact us directly at LibInfoComm@davenport.edu.

Databases

Through the LInC pages in the student portal, Davenport provides a number of databases for articles, company information, marketing and financial data, health sheets, nursing case studies, legal cases, biographies, pro/con positions on social issues, literary criticisms and much more.

Research Help

The LInC staff can provide individual instructional sessions tailored to a student's major or class assignment, so you can begin your research aware of what resources are available and with a working knowledge of how to use them. The staff is available in person, by phone or through the "Ask-a-Librarian" form on the LInC pages in the student portal.

Tutoring

Davenport University provides free personal tutoring in a variety of subjects supporting the curriculum at each location (most commonly in accounting, finance, biology, economics, English, writing, nursing, mathematics and statistics).

Individual and group tutoring is available on a drop-in basis or by appointment. "Ask-a-Tutor" email service and TutorTrac login is provided for sending documents to tutors.

The PLATO Learning System, a computer-assisted program, is available to all students 24/7 and provides instruction, as well as drill and mastery tests in many subject areas. Smarthinking, an online individual tutoring service is also provided for online students and students needing tutoring in subjects where tutors are not available at their locations.
