Institutional transfer articulation agreements focus on the detailed conditions for accepting students (with specific degrees and GPAs) and transferring their completed associate degrees into specific Davenport University majors.
If Davenport University has an articulation agreement with the institution you attended previously, that agreement governs your transfer determination. Otherwise, your transfer determination is governed by individual course-to-course equivalency evaluations and Davenport University transfer policies, or as determined by Davenport at its sole discretion.
Those applying as transfer students who wish to have credits from another college evaluated and applied to their Davenport degree must have an official transcript sent to the Registrar’s Office. Transfer applicants with a bachelor’s degree from another institution may earn a second bachelor’s degree from Davenport University provided the curriculum at Davenport is substantially different from the curriculum involved in the first degree.
Regardless of the number of credits accepted from other institutions, all transfer students must meet Davenport’s minimum residency requirements.

Military experience
As a Servicemembers Opportunity College (SOC) participant, Davenport awards credit for nontraditional learning activities by evaluating military training and experience. Military students may receive credit for experience including career, personal, job-related and community participation.
Active duty personnel may take approved tests for college credit at no cost, and veterans may be reimbursed for approved tests through VA funding.
Prior Learning Assessment (PLA)
Davenport offers course credit if you've gained college-level learning through your career and personal experience — whether in a job-related activity, community participation or specialized training. PLAs are typically reserved for higher-level coursework (300- to 400-level courses) where a standardized competency exam does not already exist. Connect with your admission representative at 800.686.1600, or you can self-schedule a quick meeting to learn more.
Testing
Davenport awards credit when you achieve a passing score on the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), DSST (formerly DANTES Subject Standardized Tests), Advanced Placement, and Credit by Exam programs or approved national certification exams.
