Scott Epstein, Ed.D.
Executive Vice President for Quality and Effectiveness
Dr. Scott Epstein is currently the executive vice president, quality and effectiveness at Davenport University. Under Dr. Epstein's leadership, Davenport has been able to develop and implement a refined and responsive annual planning process. He has led initiatives in adopting Lean Six Sigma to help reduce waste, research and planning to rebalance the enrollment portfolio, improving admissions standards, and developing and implementing Davenport's strategic plan. Dr. Epstein successfully led the university to reaffirm its accreditation in 2014 and 2023 and has served on numerous Higher Learning Commission site visit teams to other institutions. He also led the development of Davenport's application to the Michigan Performance Excellence Award Program, which resulted in the selection as a 2020 Michigan Performance Excellence Award recipient by Michigan Performance Excellence.
Dr. Epstein has over 37 years of progressive professional experience in higher education. Before joining the team at Davenport, he served as the quality planning executive advisor for Ellucian. Additionally, Epstein served in leadership roles at Terra State Community College, Towson University, Harford Community College, and Northeastern University. Dr. Epstein has also been an adjunct professor for Davenport's D.W. Maine College of Business, teaching both graduate and undergraduate courses.
